Thank you to all the beautiful people that came to my tea launch today – we had the most exquisite muffins and cakes and all in the name of Cancer Research. We raised a very generous amount of money and had a fantastic time chatting over a cup of Rejuvenation Tea. My tea is now available to purchase from Balmain Sports Physiotherapy so pop in and pick up your gorgeous pot.
Rejuvenation TeaI have been drinking Rejuvenation Tea for five years now and I still love the way it makes me feel relaxed and serene. Rejuvenation Tea began as something that I blended for myself and drank during consultations with my patients. Curiosity meant that many people would ask me for a taste and then, without fail, they would ask me where they could buy it. So, I began to craft this wonderful blend to enable people to enjoy its many benefits. I always pop an Inspiration Card in each tisane and it has become a signature of mine that people love. Now, I want to share with you this wonderfully therapeutic tisane – it is blended from exquisite organic herbs that are grown in the mountains of Tasmania. I have travelled to this farm, Highland Herbs, and felt a very spiritual presence while I toiled the fields. The energetic value of these herbs is phenomenal and will soothe your soul while your body unwinds. Rejuvenation Tea is suitable for everyone – whether you are pregnant, undergoing IVF, suffer from high blood pressure or simply need to unwind and destress.Enjoy a relaxing cup in winter as you arrive home from your long day or sip on iced Rejuvenation Tea in summer. When you brew your tisane, ensure that you take 5 long deep breathes and focus on your wellbeing. Make it part of your daily routine to connect in with yourself emotionally, spiritually and mentally. I hope you enjoy my Rejuvenation Tea as much as I do!P.S. Don’t forget to use your Tisane more than once – these herbs are full of vitality so simply top up your tea pot with fresh hot water and keep enjoying.Ingredients and Their Health PropertiesSkullcap (Scutellaria lateriflora)Skullcap is a traditional nervine tonic and has been used to treat stress, anxiety and fatigue for centuries. Skullcap acts as a calming agent for the nervous system and in particular the sympathetic side of the autonomic nervous system. Thus skullcap helps to reduce the “fight or flight” response and reduces mental and physical tiredness.Passionflower (Passiflora incarnata)GABA is the chief inhibitory neurotransmitter in the central nervous system and it plays an important role in regulating neuronal excitability throughout the nervous system. GABA is also directly responsible for the regulation of muscle tone. Passionflower has an anxiolytic and antispasmodic action due to its GABA-mediated activity1. Traditionally, Passionflower is used for irritability, anxiety, restlessness and sleep disturbances.Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis)Among the many antioxidant compounds in rosemary leaves, 90% of the antioxidant activity can be attributed to carnosol. Carnosol is a naturally occurring compound and is a potent antioxidant, anticarcinogen and also incredibly anti inflammatory 2. Interestingly, carnosol is fat soluble and its anti oxidant properties will be of value in preventing pathologic conditions that involve lipid peroxidation such as atherosclerosis and Parkinson’s disease.Lemongrass (Cymbopogon citrates)Lemongrass tea has a long history of use all over the world as a calming tonic and has clinically relevant anxiolytic properties3. Recent data demonstrates the strong antifungal properties of lemon grass oil in addition to its previously known antibacterial actions4. Lemongrass is beautifully refreshing and rejuvenating to drink as it uplifts mood without being over stimulating.Ginger (Zingiber officinale)Ginger may act as an anti-cancer and anti-inflammatory agent by inactivating NFkappaB through the suppression of the pro-inflammatory TNF-alpha5. Ginger has also shown an anti-inflammatory effect against interleukin 8 cytokines which play a major role in cancer angiogenesis6. Traditionally ginger is prescribed for nausea, poor digestion, respiratory infections and painful cramps. Energetically, ginger is a carrier herb – it helps to deliver the health benefits of accompanying herbs at the cellular level.References1. Planta Med. 2008 Dec; 74(15):1769-732.
